About us
Love Just Works, LLC is a for-profit business that has been in operation since January 2019. The organizational goal is to provide an array of services to social and human service agencies, cultural and educational organizations, state agencies, academic institutions, and private nonprofit businesses through grant writing and management, advocacy services, policy development, management consulting, conference planning, training, project development, and digital/creative communications.
From 2019 to 2021, Love Just Works has worked to identify, develop, and maintain grants that fund programs and services for several non-profit organizations and academic institutions including Florida State University College of Medicine, Handsome Brook Farms, CAN Community Health, United Way of Florida, Frenchtown Community Center, Tallahassee Food Network, Florida People’s Advocacy Center, Florida Center for Fiscal and Economic Opportunity, Florida Coalition for Transgender Liberation, Fresh Ministries, North Florida Education Development Corporation, Anglican Development Services of Kenya, Anglican Alliance Worldwide, Council of Anglican Provinces of Africa, Strategies for Northern Development, Supreme Council of Kenyan Muslims, Conservation International, Conservation South Africa, and the Kenyan National Drought Management Authority. Developing relationships with private, state, local, federal and global agencies including government agencies and county officials in Kenya, Florida Department of Education, USDA-NIFA, USAID, Catholic Charities, PCORI, City of Jacksonville, SAMHSA, US Department of Labor, US Department of Commerce, US Department of Juvenile Justice, Florida Department of Children and Families,

Working effectively and efficiently with organizational team members in a collaborative approach to expand programming and develop online communication materials,

Conducting needs assessments reports, data collection, and analysis as per grant programming and program development,

Preparing detailed proposals, budgets, and budget justification documents,

Developing and maintaining accurate records of correspondence, team and program activities, and grant compliance materials.
Our team leader Lakey Love has worked in conjunction with the Florida People’s Advocacy Center and the Center for Fiscal and Economic Policy in Tallahassee, Florida and other nonprofit citizen advocacy groups across Florida and the nation since 2009 to coordinate strategic advocacy and policy initiatives, digital and creative communications development, project development and management, and event planning and management. This includes:

Developing and coordinating strategic advocacy outreach, including: advocacy toolkit creation, social media campaign materials, organizing webinars, volunteer training, and legislative briefing for partners,

Coordinating and updating Florida PAC website, developing the Florida Policy Action Network website, and creating and publishing policy briefs,

Organizing ground actions and coalition campaigns with allied organization,

Hosting legislative and organizational volunteer advocacy trainings for allied organizations such as Florida Student Power Network, AME Churches of Florida, Dream Defenders, Florida Council for Incarcerated and Formerly Incarcerated Women and Girls, Florida Immigrant Coalition, United Way of Florida, Florida Coalition Against Gun Violence, Faith in Florida, Equality Florida, and Real Talk Education Coalition, Florida Housing Justice Alliance, Organize Florida, Catalyst Miami and Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice, Planned Parenthood, and Florida National Organization for Women,

Developing outreach programs to bring local and state grassroots organizations into state level legislative work and help them maintain a continued presence at the Florida Capitol,

Coordinating disaster outreach and fundraising for North Florida Panhandle after hurricane Michael at community, state, and legislative levels,

Coordinating all aspects of Capitol events: including lobby days, Capitol tours, legislative trainings, and strategic networking on key social justice issues, and meetings with legislators and allied groups,

Coordinating local and statewide in person and online events and coalition partners, state agencies, and nonprofit foundations.
